A difference-maker on both sides of the ball for one of the most successful small-town schools in Utah signed to play football at BYU during early signing day Wednesday.
Lineman Bruce Mitchell has signed his letter of intent to play at BYU as part of the 2019 signing class.
Mitchell is a 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman from South Summit High School in Kamas, which went 23-1 in Utah’s 2A classification in the last two seasons, winning state titles both years.
Mitchell is signing as an offensive lineman and has a 247 composite rating of 77.81. He played offensive and defensive tackle for the Wildcats as they tore through two seasons of competition.
As a senior, Mitchell recorded 76 tackles, including 13 sacks, grabbed an interception returned for 65 yards for a touchdown, forced two fumbles and recovered one, which he returned 30 yards for a Touchdown.
