Cougar Kickoff Countdown: 95 Days

#95 Gordon Hudson was a record setting tight end for BYU.

#95 Gordon Hudson played tight end at BYU from 1980-1983, following close on the heels of another great BYU tight end, Clay Brown. Hudson primarily played on the JV team as a freshman. In his sophomore season he made a splash as a big target who seemed to relish taking contact. Against the University of Utah he made 13 receptions for 259 yards, an NCAA record for tight end receiving yards. Then he tied the NCAA record for tight end receptions in a season at 67. Going into his junior season he was the leading returning receiver in the nation. As a junior and senior, Hudson was a consensus All-America player in 1982 and 1983. He finished his career with an NCAA record 2,484 yards receiving for a tight end.
