#86 Ben Cahoon walked on at BYU and earned himself a scholarship for his junior and senior seasons. Despite some serious jitters before his first game as a Cougar, Cahoon made what he later referred to as "probably the best catch of my life." Texas A&M had come to town for the season opening Pig Skin Classic game. Cahoon's first reception as a Cougar let everyone know that the little guy was legit. QB Steve Sarkisian led him the ball on a post route and he made a beautiful diving catch. The video is pretty grainy but you can watch Cahoon's favorite catch ever at the 2:35 mark of this BYU highlight reel from the game.
As a senior Cahoon led the team in receptions with 57 catches for 931 yards and an honorable mention All-America receiver. After BYU Cahoon went on to become the Jerry Rice version of the Canadian Football League. He became the CFL's all-time receptions leader with 13,301 career yards on 1,017 career receptions. He also became the Grey Cup all-time leading receiver with 666 yards on 47 receptions. Check out some Cahoon CFL highlights in this video.
