In a throwback to the days of pioneers crossing the plains, the 1948 Blue Key fraternities of Brigham Young University and Utah State University started a tradition of passing an Old Wagon Wheel back and forth between the two schools, always staying with whichever team won the game. Aggies kept the Old Wagon Wheel the first time around in 1948 and dominated the rivalry the first 3 decades winning 18 of 27 games. In the late '70s the Cougars turned the tide and now lead the series 46-34-3. Most recently the Cougars beat the Aggies on their home turf in Logan, Utah 31-14. The Cougars and Aggies will play game #84 in the series this season in Provo on Friday, October 3.
Here are the highlights of the most recent outing between BYU and USU.
