BYU's bowl history is relatively short. In fact, this year marks the fortieth anniversary of the Cougars first bowl game in 1974 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Fiesta Bowl. Most fans probably don't know that because, well, who wants to remember a loss. In the last forty years, the Cougars have made thirty-one bowl appearances and have won 13 of those contests. Their average margin of victory is 11.5. The largest margin of victory for BYU in a bowl game, 30, came against the Oregon Ducks in 2006. BYU's longest bowl game winning streak is four years in a row from 2009-2012. This season, with this schedule, the Cougars are expected to easily cruise to post-season play. They will play in the Miami Beach Bowl against an American Athletic Conference team and could possibly play UCF or Houston twice as they play each team during the regular season.
