BYU quarterbacks are historically known for setting records. It's what they do. Current quarterback Taysom Hill is no exception. As a sophomore last season he set several records with his feet, most notably against the Texas Longhorns.
The first record that Hill set at BYU came more than a year before that rain delayed game against the Longhorns. In 2012 the BYU Cougars opened up at home against the Washington State Cougars. In the second quarter, fans got their first look at Taysom Hill on a fourth-and-one on the Washington State 18-yard line. Hill took the snap and rolled right. Despite fans expecting a run on such a short down, he found Kaneakua Friel in the end zone for the touchdown. With that, Hill became the first Cougar quarterback to throw a touchdown pass on his first career pass.
