DE recruit Mufi Hunt announced his decision to play for Michigan State at a press conference at Taylorsville High School on Wednesday. He said, "After serving on the Lord's team for two years on a mission, it will be my honor to play along side the brothers of Sparta at Michigan State."
At 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, Hunt is a talented defensive end rated three stars with a 247Sports composite rating of .8560
Hunt tallied 73 tackles and 12 sacks at Taylorsville High (UT), and at 6-foot-6 has a prototypical defensive-end frame. Hunt was on BYU's radar for a while, but his recruitment picked up major steam as he gave due diligence to his choice. After an official visit to Michigan State on Jan. 23, he headed to Oregon State on Jan. 28, then participating at BYU's big visit weekend from Jan. 30 - Feb. 1.
Hunt told The Oregonian last week his choice was a four-way tie between Michigan State, Oregon State, Washington State, and BYU. He will serve a mission immediately after high school.
