BYU has secured a two-game football series with the Connecticut Huskies for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The two schools will meet for the first time on August 28, 2014 in Connecticut. That current date is a Thursday and would mark a kickoff on college football's opening day.
UConn returns the trip the next season on October 31, 2015.
"Scheduling this game in the northeast gives our fans traveling to the game opportunities to visit places they may not have been before," BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said of the series. "We are also excited to welcome UConn to Provo for its first-ever visit to LaVell Edwards Stadium."
Huskies coach Paul Pasqualoni was very complementary of the series. "The series with BYU is a great opportunity and challenge for our football program," Pasqualoni said via press release. "Everyone in college football knows about the proud heritage of BYU football."
The pre- and post-game meetings between Bronco Mendenhall and Pasqualoni will be epic.
