BYU in the NFL - Week 10: Daniel Sorensen has his best game of the season

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Week 10 of the NFL season featured Daniel Sorensen and Ziggy Ansah leading the way for former Cougars in the NFL. Sorensen got the opportunity to play a significant number of snaps on defense for the first time this season, filling in for the injured Tyvon Branch. Sorensen made the most of the additional playing time, picking up three tackles, a pass deflection, and unleashing a vicious hit on Denver's Emmanuel Sanders in Kansas City's big win over the Broncos.

Ansah had a quiet game by his standards, but still picked up two tackles in Detroit's surprising win over Green Bay.  This is only the third game this season where Ansah has not recorded a sack. Ansah has fallen slightly behind among the NFL leaders in sack, but remains in the top five.

Here's how all the BYU alumni in the NFL performed for their respective teams in Week 10:

Dennis Pitta (Ravens) #88: Pitta is out for the season as he continues to recover from the hip injury he suffered last season.

Ziggy Ansah (Lions) #94: Ansah played 61 snaps, recording two tackles and three QB hits in Detroit's 18-16 win over Green Bay.

Kyle Van Noy (Lions) #53: Van Noy played 25 special teams snaps, but did not record any stats in Detroit's 18-16 victory over Green Bay.

John Denney (Dolphins) #92: Denney played 12 special teams snaps as the long snapper in Miami's 20-19 victory over Philadelphia.

Uani 'Unga (Giants) #47: For the second straight week (and third week overall) 'Unga was out as he continues to battle a neck injury.

Dallas Reynolds (Giants) #61: Reynolds played 37 snaps, but did not record any stats in New York's 26-27 loss to New England.

Daniel Sorensen (Chiefs) #49: Sorensen played 60 snaps, picking up three tackles and a pass deflection in Kansas City's 29-13 victory over Denver.

Alani Fua (Cardinals) #59: Fua played 22 special teams snaps, recording a single tackle in Arizona's 39-32 win over Seattle.

De'Ondre Wesley (Ravens) #77: Wesley was inactive for Baltimore's 20-22 loss to Jacksonville.

Cougars currently on NFL practice squads: Hebron Fangupo (Chiefs), Rob Daniel (Packers), and Paul Lasike(Bears).
