BYU in the NFL - Week 15: Ziggy Ansah selected to Pro Bowl

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

It was a fairly uneventful week for former Cougars in the NFL with one rather big exception. For the first time in years a BYU alum has been selected to the Pro Bowl roster.

Ziggy Ansah becomes the first former Cougar to get selected to the Pro Bowl since Brett Keisel was selected in 2010. Ansah was one of the six defensive ends selected to this year's showcase of the top talent in the league. Ansah has 39 tackles, 13.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries this season.

Here's how all the BYU alumni in the NFL performed for their respective teams in Week 15:

Dennis Pitta (Ravens) #88: Pitta is out for the season as he continues to recover from the hip injury he suffered last season.

Ziggy Ansah (Lions) #94: Ansah played 49 snaps, recording two tackles and a QB hit in Detroit's 35-27 victory over New Orleans.

Kyle Van Noy (Lions) #53: Van Noy played 30 snaps, recording one tackle in Detroit's 35-27 win over New Orleans.

John Denney (Dolphins) #92: Denney played 10 special teams snaps, handling the team's long snapping in Miami's 14-30 loss to San Diego.

Uani 'Unga (Giants) #47: 'Unga played 44 snaps, recording five tackles in New York's 35-38 loss to Carolina.

Dallas Reynolds (Giants) #61: Reynolds played 11 special teams snaps, but did not record any stats in New York's 35-38 loss to Carolina.

Daniel Sorensen (Chiefs) #49: Sorensen played 58 snaps, recording three tackles and a pass deflection in Kansas City's 34-14 victory over Baltimore.

Alani Fua (Cardinals) #59: Fua played 19 special teams snaps, but did not record stats in Arizona's 40-17 win over Philadelphia.

De'Ondre Wesley (Ravens) #77: Wesley played two special teams snaps, but did not record any stats in Baltimore's 14-24 loss to Kansas City.

Cougars currently on NFL practice squads: Rob Daniel (Packers), Paul Lasike (Bears), and Jordan Leslie (Falcons).
