It was a fairly slow week statistically for the BYU alums in the NFL this week. While all the former Cougar currently on active rosters saw at least special teams action for their respective teams, Ziggy Ansah and Daniel Sorensen were the only ones to record any stats.
Ansah had another solid outing for the Lions, recording five tackles and a QB hit in the Lions' win over the 49ers. A five tackle outing is a solid performance for a defensive end, but it's become unusual to not see at least one sack in the box score for Ansah.

Going into the final week of the regular season Ansah is only 1.5 sacks away from Detroit's franchise record for sacks in a single season. A two sack performance in the Lions' season finale versus Chicago this week would give Ansah the record.
Sorensen has done a great job filling in for the injured Husain Abdullah and has shown he can produce for Kansas City when he sees significant snaps. This past week Sorensen had two tackles and blocked a field goal just before halftime in the Chiefs win over the Browns.
Here's how all the BYU alumni in the NFL performed for their respective teams in Week 16:
Dennis Pitta (Ravens) #88: Pitta is out for the season as he continues to recover from the hip injury he suffered last season.
Ziggy Ansah (Lions) #94: Ansah played 45 snaps, recording five tackles and a QB hit in Detroit's 32-17 win over San Francisco.
Kyle Van Noy (Lions) #53: Van Noy played 27 snaps, but did not record any stats in Detroit's 32-17 victory over San Francisco.
John Denney (Dolphins) #92: Denney played five special teams snaps, handling the team's long snapping in Miami's 12-18 loss to Indianapolis.
Uani 'Unga (Giants) #47: 'Unga played 23 snaps, but did not record any stats in New York's 17-49 loss to Minnesota.
Dallas Reynolds (Giants) #61: Reynolds played 14 special teams snaps, but did not record any stats in New York's 17-49 loss to Minnesota.
Daniel Sorensen (Chiefs) #49: Sorensen played 40 snaps, recording two tackles and a blocked field goal in Kansas City's 17-13 victory over the Browns.
Alani Fua (Cardinals) #59: Fua played 23 snaps, mostly on special teams, but did not record any stats in Arizona's 38-8 victory over Green Bay.
De'Ondre Wesley (Ravens) #77: Wesley played four special teams snaps, but did not record any stats in Baltimore's 20-17 win over Pittsburgh.
Cougars currently on NFL practice squads: Rob Daniel (Packers), Paul Lasike (Bears), and Jordan Leslie (Falcons).
