BYU football recruting: Cougars add another 2018 commitment, LB Brandon Kaho

The recruitment train just keeps on rolling, as the Cougars grab another future defensive player

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

If you blink for just a moment, you're likely to miss a slew of Cougar commitments lately. The train continues to roll on, as BYU accepted yet another 2018 commitment in Ale Kaho.

Based on his HUDL page and other social media accounts, Ale appears to go by Brandon. This commitment was first broken by Total Blue Sports.

Per his Rivals page, Kaho, a 6'3, 215 pound linebacker from Reno, Nevada, also has offers from Nevada and Utah. A 2018 prospect with multiple offers is a slightly unusual, let alone one from a Pac-12 program, so it appears BYU is getting in early on a kid whose recruitment could certainly pick up by the time this process is finished.

We're an awfully long way from National Signing Day for the class of 2018, so a lot can change, but continuing to establish early momentum in future recruiting classes is always a good thing. If nothing else, it is clear that a BYU offer carries a fair amount of weight to kids early in the process.

BYU picked up a 2019 commitment along the defensive line recently as well.
