Last week, it seemed like BYU added roughly a million commitments, but the bulk of them were for future recruiting classes. Now, the Cougars have added another name to the 2017 class, this time on the defensive side of the ball.
2017 OLB Ben Bywater, of Salt Lake City, Utah, tweeted his commitment to BYU football.

A three-star prospect according to the major recruiting services, Bywater is listed as the 14th best player in the state of Utah, and the 84th best OLB in the country, per 247 Sports. He has offers listed from Air Force, Fresno State and Utah State, but has seen interest from multiple Pac-12 programs.
Bywater is the second-highest ranked commitment currently in BYU’s 2017 class, behind Jackson McChesney. His 247Sports composite rating is currently 83.33. The other two commitments to the 2017 class are tight ends Isaac Rex and Donovan Hanna.
Bywater missed six games during his last high school season due to a lacerated kidney, according to his Hudl page, but recorded 18 tackles, including three for loss, in six games of action.
