BYU’s second game of the season now has a time and network.
BYU’s Sept. 2 matchup against LSU in the Texas Kickoff will kick at 7:30 p.m. MST and air on ESPN, the school announced today.
The game, hosted at Houston’s NRG Stadium, will be the nightcap of college football’s first full Saturday, coming after national TV matchups between Florida-Michigan and Alabama-Florida State.
The Cougars are 2-1 against SEC teams since going independent in 2011, and will play at Mississippi State later in the year.
It’s the sixth of BYU’s 13 games in 2017 to get TV assignments so far.
A Friday home game Oct. 6 against Boise State will be on ESPN. Consecutive road games at Fresno State and UNLV on Nov. 4 & 10 are slated for ESPN networks, with UNLV already set for a Friday ESPN2 broadcast.
A general conference Friday game at Utah State and the regular-season finale at Hawaii on Nov. 25 are both slated for CBS Sports.
The game is LSU’s season opener but not BYU’s. The Cougars host Portland State to open their 2017 campaign on Aug. 26.
