After a somewhat lackluster performance for BYU in their 20-6 victory over Portland State last week, the Cougars will face a much more difficult test versus the 13th ranked LSU Tigers tonight in New Orleans. Tonight’s game marks the first time the Cougars and Tigers have squared off on the football field.
One of the bright spots for the Cougars last week was defensive end Sione Takitaki, who returned to field for BYU for the first time since the 2015 season. Takitaki picked up right where he left off, disrupting things in the backfield with seven tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks against the Vikings. Let’s hope Takitaki and the rest of the Cougar defense can spoil the debut of LSU’s new offense tonight.
