BYU track and field athlete Shaquille Walker has struck gold at the World University Games in Gwangju, Korea.
Walker beat the field in the 800 meters to claim his gold medal early Sunday morning, winning with a time of 1:49.05.
The win came after Walker sat back behind the lead runners until the final 50 meters, overtaking Abdelati El Guesse of Morocco and Rynardt Van Rensburg of South Africa to win.

Walker also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 meter team. Team USA initially won the silver medal in that race, but was disqualified for an improper relay:
