I saw TJ Haws and the Lakeland Magic were coming to my hometown of Greensboro, NC to play the Swarm on March 23, 2022. My wife and I put on our BYU hats, went to the game, and cheered on a former Coug. We walked past TJ during the layup line, gave him a little shout, pointed to our BYU hats we were wearing in his honor, and he gave us a smile a little salute. TJ battled foul trouble most of the second half and finished with 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting (2-of-3 from the 3-point line), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He was a little sloppy with the ball and committed five turnovers and he was visibly frustrated at times. Overall TJ still has a great handle, outstanding vision, and a sweet stroke from beyond the arc. The video contains a couple of the highlights I captured on my iPhone. Here's to hoping Haws somehow breaks through with the Orlando Magic.
Check out this animation put to some of the thoughts from the CougarCast as they look into BYU football's season opening clash with Arizona. If questions and concerns for Taysom Hill's health along with the coaching debuts at head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator didn't seem like enough to worry about, why not add in the difficult task of stopping a Rich Rodriguez offense? History shows that Kalani Sitake has had a major challenge slowing down Rich Rod's spread read option.
